Among other things, the National Youth Study looked into the properties that people attach to popular brands. According to the respondents, properties that fit into Fazer are its Finnish identity, employment of Finns, and the keeping of tried and tested products in its range. Young people feel that Fazer offers safe, high-quality products and appreciates its customers.
”We are very happy and pleased with this award. We are now celebrating our 120th anniversary, and this clearly shows that in addition to long traditions, we have constantly been able to look ahead and appeal to new generations,” says Anne-Maria Flanagan, Fazer’s Corporate Responsibility Manager.
About a half of the young people responding to the study considered themselves environmentally oriented, ethical consumers. Young people also expect that companies have distinct values.
Fazer has always taken a long-term approach, building its operations on sustainable foundations. The long-term approach and continuous improvement, which belong to corporate responsibility, represent Fazer’s way of doing things, says Anne-Maria Flanagan.
As part of its corporate responsibility, Fazer wants to encourage young people to find their place in working life. To support this, Fazer has launched the Elämän Eväät programme, through which it offers practical training to about 200 young people each year.
The National Youth Study is a research series by 15/30 Research. The Study represents young people aged 15–30 years and living in mainland Finland.
