Fazer´s Ethical Principles

Obeying the law
• Fazer follows valid legislation and rules.

Employees
• Fazer treats all employees in a fair and equal manner in accordance with internationally proclaimed human rights. (UNGC 1)
• Fazer conducts regular personnel surveys and development discussions.
• Fazer respects the personal dignity, privacy and personal rights of every individual and does not accept any discrimination, intimidation, harassment or offence at work. (UNGC 6)

Compliance with competition laws
• Fazer promotes fair business practices and does not engage itself in any illegal or restrictive trade practices.

Business security and Confidentiality
• Fazer and its employees shall respect the confidential nature of business information.

Intellectual Property Rights
• Fazer and its employees acknowledges that Fazer’s trademarks and other IPR form a substantial part of its total assets and is committed to respecting others’ IP rights as well.

Suppliers
• Fazer encourages its business partners to comply with its ethical principles.
• No Fazer employee may offer or receive any money or gift other than minor gifts that could be regarded as bribe or influence.
• Fazer treats its suppliers and partners in a fair and equal manner

Consumers
• Fazer sells and markets its products in an ethical and non-harassing manner.
• As a market leader in its businesses, Fazer is committed to developing new products and services to meet current and changing consumer demands.

The environment
• Fazer is committed to continuously improving its products, operations and production facilities to reduce negative impacts on the environment and to optimize the resource consumption. (UNGC 7, 8, 9)

Workplace standards
• Fazer invests in work safety.
• Fazer does not accept child labour nor any form of forced or compulsory labour nor other human right abuses. (UNGC 2, 4, 5)
• Fazer respects freedom of association and employees’ right to collective bargaining. (UNGC 3)

Responsibility
• Each and every Fazer employee is responsible for following its ethical principles in their daily work.
• Managers are responsible for informing, guidance and compliance in their respective areas.
• In case of any misunderstandings or unclear situations employees can always contact their superiors, Fazer Group risk management or the legal department.

Customers
• Fazer treats its customers in a fair and equal manner.
• No Fazer employee may offer or receive any money or gift greater than a minor one that could be regarded as bribe or influence.

Conflicts of interest
• Fazer employees are expected to avoid situations which conflict or could be perceived as conflicting his/her personal and business interests.
• Fazer employees are not to utilize their position or information received due to their position at Fazer or assets belonging to Fazer to gain unfair personal benefit.

Anticorruption and Business integrity
• Fazer or its employees do not give or receive any direct or indirect bribes or other benefits that could be regarded as bribes or corruption. (UNGC 10)
• Fazer books and documents shall be accurate and describe the true and fair view of the event.

Compliance of the Ethical Principles
• All Fazer employees are expected to comply with ethical principles.
• Any employee or related party can contact anonymously Group CEO, Group Legal or Risk Management on any non-compliances without risk of retaliation or other negative consequences.
• Non-compliances will be duly examined and proper actions taken.
