Fazer’s 60th anniversary.

1952

Fazer begins selling bread through outside retailers.

1954

Baking transferred from Kluuvikatu to Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki.

1955

Work begins on a new factory in Vantaa, area given name “Fazerila”.

1958

Fazer acquires the Oululainen bakery.

Concurrently

Porkkala is returned to Finland, and Kekkonen is elected President. The Olympic Games are organised in Helsinki. The economy is paralysed by a general strike in the spring of 1956. Television reaches Finland. The population of Finland rises to 4 million.
